almost done

we are getting ready to leave mombasa tomorrow. We have had a few days of debrief and relaxation on the beaches here. God has still been using us though. the guys i bought a coconut from got saved... some other random guy that walked up while we were worshippin the other day got saved. a few muslim men got converted. one actually walked up to a girl on our team and asked her if she could tell him something that would change his life for the better from this day forward. she was able to share about Christ for about 4 hours. several things like this have brought excitement and challenge to our daily activities. we have also really enjoyed the time off and a rest from constant ministry. We are getting ready to fly to new zealand to graduate a week from this friday. We will have debrief all next week and then graduate friday. I will then be able to write more on here and put up pictures and hopefully some videos. thanks for everyone's support and prayers over the last months. it has been amazing to see what God has done.

islands!

ok we made it to MOMBASA! after a 27 hour bus ride across africa we made it here safely. thanks everyone for your prayers it was much appreciated. God has done very much over the last week on the islands. i would say 100-200+ got savd! many also got healed! 2 lame walk. and other very cool miracles. we worked very hard but the product of it was that many were impacted. one healing was a man with a really bad tooth ache. he had a large open wound in his mouth that jbell saw. they prayed and a while later he came back and they looked in his mouth and jbell said it looked like someone actually stitched the inside of his mouth closed. and it looked all cleaned up. but none of us had done anything but prayed. we did the underoath skit several times and did a fun traditional ugandan bumshakin dance for the crowds. it helped to bring the crowds in. then we would give a testimony and sermon of the gospel. the one girl was sitting in the church when we went there. we prayed for a while with her. then we saw her later and prayed again. she had holes in her legs and they didnt work and they didnt even extend straight. one of the pastors we were with told us he saw her walking later on after we left!

we went to a prison where about 20+ people accepted Christ. all but one or two in the whole prison population! it was really cool. this happened several times throughout the week! we also went to the hospital and did bed to bed evangelism and healing. that was really cool. many accepted Jesus/

keep us in your prayers as we do some more ministry this week and wind down from the intense last week we had. peace out>>> AFRICA!

Uganda MAINLAND!

Uganda has been great so far! We have been so blessed to have real showers, bathrooms, and food. We have really enjoyed tasting “real life” again. So far while we have been here we have done mnstry at several primary schools in which we had the children act out Bbl stories. We did david (some little kid from the school) and Goliath (Jbell) and couple other stories. We have been really encoraged by the wrshp of all the children. It is really amazing to hear. We went to a childrens prison also. It was really hard to see and hear that they haven’t eaten for 2 weeks, and they get put in jail cells. Gd showed up and about 20+ pryd the pryr of Slvation. Prs GD! We were able to go to a couple small groups while we have been here. We have been encoraged and been able to encorage the people we met with. We are excited as we leave today for the islands of Lake Victoria. We are sleeping in tents and eating fish for a week. But while we are there we will be prechn the gspel to the people of the islands and pryn for them. We are doin ev. Crsades for which we have put out flyers on the islands so many people will show up. We will also work with the children while we are there. We are expecting Gd to show up in a huge way. We will be pryn for heling, dliverence, slvation. Please pry that Gd moves in powerful ways on the islands and protection for us in many different ways. We want to see GD move!

part 2 uganda

We have been doing great over the last week. God has been working through us in such a big way. We have gone back to some of the same highschools and done some ministry there with the girls. The girls beat us in soccer, but they weren’t counting half of our goals because they were too high for them too reach. We were able to go to a place where people with aids come to help each other and support each other. We were really blessed by all of them and their stories on how they have relied on Jesus and how he brings them comfort in life. We went and visited the orphanage again and loved on them for a while. Walking through town the other day briana and getcha prayed for a guy and released him of “demons” he had. We did the underoath skit at a gathering this Sunday. We also shared with about 100+ young adults about how G is enough for us, how He is our superior pleasure. Then we went totally unprepared to try to lead the sunday school. All the kids from Gretchen and Gibbs’ class kept sneaking over to cole and Jbell’s class because it was more exciting and entertaining. We also went to a deaf school and served them by cleaning around the school and cole gave one of the kids his ipod. We went to another school and weren’t told we had to entertain about 200+ little kids for a couple hours. We have funny videos of the failed relay races that ended up in every kid doing the wheelbarrow at the same time and what was meant to take up some time, ended in about 45 seconds. We climbed a mountain nearby and hung out on the top of it prd for a while. They have a fred flinstone weight set here at the base that is made out of rocks with holes drilled through them for the bar to go through. We used it once…

We snuck into the Hilton hotel in Nairobi and went into the pool, got caught, and had to pay the pool attendant. We finally got some fast food, something other than ugali, and then we went dancing at a place that one of the base staff took us to, but we were the only ones dancing.
The four guys went to THE CARNIVORE restaurant and ate meat for 4 hours. We had ostrich meatballs, all kinds of pork, beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, and a few others. It was an amazing relief from eating beans and rice. We are still full.
We are sad that we are leaving the base here in Kenya, but excited to go to Uganda and somewhere new.

Please p for us to get rest over the next few days, and safety on our bus trip to Uganda. Also p for catie as she has not been feeling good.

We have arrived in Uganda and are staying at an American couple’s house. They do “plead the cause Uganda” we will do ministry on the mainland for a week then go out to the islands and do ministry there for the next week. We are glad to have real showers, internet, toilets, and real food close by. Our drive across Kenya to Uganda went alright, except an unexpected stop at the customs place where a passenger’s belongings (about 10 boxes full of stuff) were taken for some unknown reason. We will be staying at this house for about a week then camping out on the islands of lake Victoria for a week. Please pray for God to continue to lead us and work through us.

africa update

We made it to Africa! It took about 40 hours of travel, but God kept us safe. We are at a YWAM base outside of Nairobi, Kenya. It is really nice here. Everyone is very friendly and easy to talk to. So far we have helped on the base doing work duties (digging holes, chopping wood, sanding tables), helped out with dinner, and played with the children in the preschool that is held on base. We have seen a lot of zebras just outside the base and we saw a few giraffes as well. We got excellent video of all of these things. Wednesday we went to an orphanage in a nearby town. It was fun to play with all the little kids. We then went into the town and got lunch and walked around for a while. It was very interesting to see everyone’s reaction to the “white people” in town. I think some of us saw one other white person in the whole town. It’s really hot here! There is a fred flinstone workout set. Gjetje was offered 150 donkeys for her by some guy in the market the other day. We have had very good times of intercession, worship, and ministering throughout the last week. We went to Nairobi and went to a really cool market where they were selling all kind of things. We were able to eat real food and watch a movie and enjoy our day off. We went to a girls highschool and did several skits and games with the girls. Briana spoke about how God’s love is enough for us. Pastor G(me) gave his testimony and talked about how God is the only thing that can fill the hole in our lives. We had a really good time of ministry afterwards. We all were able to talk with the girls and pray with them about what was going on in their lives. We also were able to come back a few days later and beat them in soccer. That’s right we beat the best Kenyan soccer team of 200+ ripped girls. We had a few Kenyans on our team too…. We had a big bonfire here on base with all the staff and enjoyed firejumping, singing Swahili songs, and dance competition. We split in two groups for church on Sunday. Pastor G(me) gave a hour long sermon at a sketchy tin can of a church. Gretchy brought the fun with childrens ministry. J-hawk gave a biblestudy on prayer. It was all fun and had to be translated so everyone could understand. At the other church the music was crazy reggae/praise. The huge speakers were blown out. And after crazy dance party/praise session which included the air guitar, shootin for the stars in every direction, the lawnmower and pullin the weeds(dance moves) “the wave” and HIGH KICKS!, we got screamed at by a pastor on the loud speaker. Briana spoke for a while in front of the church. Cole spoke to the youth group with shane. And we helped out with the teaching the kids. It was sweet. We have now been here two weeks and are loving it. We have been to a few different girls highschools to talk about God, do skits, worship, and give testimonies. God has really been working in us and through us. We also went to two different churches this morning. The one we went to was about the size of a normal bedroom. With about 10 pews that were made out of trees. We fit about 25 people into this small building. On the way walking to church I was asked to preach. So I didn’t really have time to prepare, but the Holy Spirit spoke through me and gave a really good message on John 15 and staying connected to the vine. Also in Galatians 5 the fruit of the spirit.

africa!

im leaving today! I have about a 40 hr travel time. We are going through Hong Kong, then over to Nairobi, Kenya. We will be in a little town outside of Nairobi for about a month. Then we will drive to Uganda, for Uganda Plead the Cause. We will be there for two weeks then head back to Moombasa, Kenya for one week of ministry and another week of debrief and relaxation on the beach!

Please pray that our team works well together, seeks to bring the Kingdom of God, is able to LOVE above all else, seeks God consistently, enjoys Him thoroughly. That God uses us in amazing ways with signs and wonders. I prayed for 1000's of healings, so please join in on that prayer.

Also please pray that God will work out what I am doing after dts. I have been in contact with an organization called call2all.org It's a pretty long story, but God has given me a vision to do, exactly what they are doing! So please pray that I would be able to connect with them, figure out my role with the organization, and seek God throughout the whole thing.

Please check out call2all.org it is an amazing website focusing on bringing the gospel to all nations, through spiritual and physical needs. It is really beautiful and I can't wait to be a part of it.

Intimacy and urgency!

We learned this week about getting to know God. That the chief end of man is to enjoy God! The point of us to be on earth is to enjoy GOD! thats cool! I got the words to describe my experience that I've had since I've been here. I realized that GOD is better than every pleasure on earth! That HE alone is better than sex, drugs, alcohol, fun, money, toys, everything! I'm trying to understand this more, but I think I believe it. I want to believe it more.
I am starting to understand that GOD can fulfill me more than anything else I have every experienced. The closer I get to HIM and the more I get to know HIM, I am just captivated by HIS love, HIS joy, HIS justice, HIS mercy, and so many other things.
We also went through the book of revelation and recieved clarity on what the different parts of it were. We learned an overview of it. It really isn't hard to understand.
Anyways I am going to Africa a week from tomorrow! i cant wait! GOD is going to do so many cool things with our group and through us. Pray that we learn to enjoy GOD more! and that the outpouring of that would be miracles, wonders, signs, and other amazing works. So that many others will get to know GOD more.

PLEASE PRAY!

freedom!

I talked with a couple girls in our school yesterday. One has been unable to sleep well for a long time. She couldn’t remember when she could sleep well. Her aunt and her grandma have the same problem. The other girl gets sick all the time. God gave me a word of knowledge for the second girl, that it wasn’t just her getting sick, that there was more to it. Then I got the word fear as I asked God for more help.
So I talked to my mom, shes amazing, and she told me some ways to get to the root of the problem in both cases. I talked with both girls and came up with several things that were keeping them from sleeping and being well. Many of the things that were keeping them from sleeping and being healthy were fear, anxiety, worry, and things like this. We prayed and they repented of these things, confessed, asked for forgiveness, and they were free!
The girl that couldn’t sleep said to me first thing this morning that she fell asleep right away and slept very well! PRAISE GOD! FREEDOM! The other girl wasn’t really feeling well today she said, but I believe that she has freedom. I think that she has to learn to walk in full freedom before all the effects of this will be gone.
O but I forgot. The girl that doesn’t ever really feel good, asked after we prayed and talked for a couple hours if we could do this for everyone that night. We decided to invite everyone to a worship night and then in the middle ask God to show us who needed freedom. We prayed that those that showed up would be the ones that needed freedom. 5 other people than me showed up and they all got freedom from something. Praise God! It was an amazing worship time!
We learned about the Holy Spirit this week. We learned how the Holy Spirit was evident all through scripture, in Jesus’ life, and now in our present life. We also did the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and most of us, those who were willing were speaking in tongues. I’m hoping that God gives me the ability to speak in tongues in Swahili, which is the language that is spoken in Africa where I am going. That would be cool!

UMMM.... God Heals Again! ;)

so people been getting hurt alot lately. one kid broke his collerbone, another messed up his arm and tailbone pretty bad, another broke his knee cap, another broke her foot. it was really cool that when a few of our guys were at the hospital they were goin around prayin for people, a guys broken arm fully mended back together and was healed 100%, a few others were totally healed as well. This morning during worship the kid that hurt his tailbone was in a lot of pain. Right at the end He walks up to the front at the podium. He couldn't even talk, He's just crying. Someone in the group goes... did you get healed... and he shakes his head yes. He then goes on to tell us how he was in a really lot of pain, and now it is totally gone after someone prayed for him. Praise God!

God Heals AGAIN!

God answered the prayer for Judson’s eyes. He went last night, unknowing to me, to get contacts fitted. He was able to see clearly for the first time in a long while with these new contacts on. He will receive soft contacts next week and when his eyes fully heal, he had a surgery a while ago, he will receive hard contacts. He will be able to drive again and function normally. He probably will have pretty good vision.

Yesterday we got 3 new teachers. One of them is named Emmy. She heard that God was moving last week through us as God healed several people. She said that she wasn’t going to say anything, but because she heard this, she decided to share that she has fibremiosis or some disease where she gets really tired and sick often. This morning we prayed for her, the pain in her legs left her instantly, for the last few hours she said that her body was trembling inside, I believe this is God working. I remembered how I was never able to eat an apple because I was allergic to them. My mom told me that it was because of fear and that if I pray against fear in Jesus name I can eat an apple. So I did and it worked. I no longer am allergic to apples, I eat them all the time now. But one day I became fearful of the allergic reaction of the apple, I started drinking water and eating other things to make sure I didn’t have a reaction. I definitely had a reaction, because I let fear in.

I encouraged her not to have doubt or fear in her situation. To not let satan have a foothold in her life. She then told me that she has had depression, fear, and doubt because she had a healing experience at the beginning of the year and it has come back. It has brought doubt and pain and depression with it. I told her to pray against these things in Jesus name.

please pray

The finger of God is an amazing movie that has documented what God is doing in the world today. I recommend everyone watches it. I bought the audio book When Heaven Invades Earth by Bill Johnson and listened to it in three days it was so good.

I am praying as much as I can for my small group leader Judson’s eyes. He has had some stuff wrong with them for a while and at 27 he has the vision of a 60 year old. This prohibits him from driving, reading things, and just enjoying normal life. I am committed to praying for this until it is healed. Please pray as well. I really want this and I feel God does as well. Please dedicate some time to pray for him and the full restoration of his eyes.

This morning as me and a couple guys were prayin for him, the Holy Spirit became really heavy on me. The weight held me down on the couch I was sitting on. I felt like I was 500 lbs. It was really amazing and powerful. I definitely felt the presence of God. I also felt like I tasted God a little. This was a little different. In this moment I asked a guy I was praying with to get Judson so we could pray over him. We did and nothing happened. I still praise God even though he wasn’t healed.

fresh pow! and NEW PICS! i added 124 new pics and the player only shows 100 newest. so click the link if you want to see them all!

We went snowboarding and there was about 2-3ft of powder! It was an amazing day.

We have been learning about the Kingdom of God. That we have the Power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. The resurrection power. We can use this to command the Kingdom of God to come into this earth. Command healing in the physical, mental, emotional, relational, and probably more. Today we went snowboarding again. Several people got hurt throughout the day. Then we started praying in the lodge. Shane’s ankle which looked like he had an extra knee cap on the side of his ankle got fully healed! PRAISE GOD! Andrew’s hand/wrist had something wrong with and it was completely healed. Praise God! Clayton got his hip healed.

We watched the Burton open half-pipe competition. Shawn white popped back to back cork 1080’s right in my face! Got a pic of that. Other than that we just really enjoyed the speaker. Learned about the power we have because of Christ’s resurrection.

Queenstown

Joe dirt prayed yesterday! We went to the another rail jam in Christchurch and a few of our guys entered the competition. One of them broke his knee cap in half and had to go to the hospital. After the railjam was done some of us went to the hospital and Joe dirt came with. He prayed for matt, the one with the cracked knee cap. Wow! God is amazing!
I didn’t go to the hospital I rode back with Gretchen and lauren. Lauren sprained her ankle and had just left the hospital before she met up with us. While in the car I asked to pray for Lauren. We ended up prayin for her the whole 40 minute drive. We decided to pray until it was healed. When we got back we got together everyone that was around and asked them to pray with us. It turned into an amazing time of worship, prayer and healing. I was given a picture of a mountain and a van going up it. The van rolled off the cliff, but then everyone was healed. I believe this meant that we had a large need for healing and that it would be done that night. So we each said what needed to be healed on us. There was about 15 of us at this time. Then we prayed for healing. By the end of the night Lauren’s ankle was about 75% better and she could walk on it. Earlier someone barely touched her toe and she said she wanted to kill them. Many others were healed, I asked for healing in my shoulder and my knee. Both get agitated sometimes. So far they feel good. God spoke to me and gave me Luke 6 during this worship time. This is when Jesus told the guy with the shriveled hand to stretch it out and it was healed. I asked Lauren to take a step. She walked around the room! This is 3 hours after she sprained her ankle and was told she wouldn’t be able to walk for 3 weeks.
We are in Queenstown now and we fasted today on the drive over. We fasted because we felt that God was going to move in healing throughout our trip here and we wanted to pray about it. Please pray that God moves this next week in Queenstown and many are healed and find the Lord.
Lauren’s leg has not yet been fully healed. On Tuesday morning. I came to the conclusion that God has a bigger plan than I do. I just want full healing NOW! God has a bigger plan. He has told a few people that the whole school needs to see this healing happen.
We have been learning about the Kingdom of God. Sozo is the word for salvation, but also for healing and deliverance. This is what Jesus died for. We have the authority to bring the kingdom. After learning about the Kingdom for the last couple days, we went on a treasure hunt. We each had a paper with blanks for how people look, places, clothing, weird things, etc. We asked God to fill the paper with things such as green jacket, pink hair, brick building, etc. so we went to Queenstown and walked around and looked for the people in our 4 person team’s sheets. We prayed with several people, had some good conversations, and prayed for a kid’s knee and we believe it was totally healed.
So I got back and I was kind of disappointed that I didn’t heal anyones broken bones or something really crazy. Then as I was complaining like a little girl, there was a girl from our school that was crying. She was having a hard time with how some people have treated her. I prayed for that and she had a huge smile when I was done. She then said she had pain all throughout her body from her head, shoulders, back, neck, and muscles. She said the pain was 7. I prayed and the pain went to 3. 5 min later I prayed again and the pain went to 0. Then it moved from 0 to 1 over the next while. Praise God! Then she said that she has never had a prophecy. So I told her to give me one right there. She said she saw the great wall of china. She said that before I asked her to do that she definitely wasn’t thinking about the Great wall of China. This was the first thing that came to her mind. Then I asked her to tell me what it meant. She said she went there one time and walked far away from where the bus dropped her off and where the wall was not really kept up because there wasn’t a lot of tourists that went there. It was crumbling. She said that maybe God was going to crumble some walls in my life….. and then I heard we are having ministry tonight! sweeet! She just said her pain is a 0!
O and we are having Kelly Clark, pro snowboarder/gold medalist, teach at our school tonight and talk about miracles she has been a part of!

LORD OF THE RINGS!

for all you lord of the rings fans, we are snowboarding on MORDOR this week! its called remarkables. but it is where they shot MORDOR in the movie!~

everything else is going really well. We met our friend "joe dirt" as he calls himself for the second week in a row. This guy randomly shows up where we are. me and another student (travis) bought him dinner and were talking about God and stuff like that. He started out athiest, then he believed in positive thinking. after dinner we went and watched the "oneyear" snowboarding video that we saw the week before as well. He came and watched the movie and enjoyed it.

The movie is a christian snowboard film that talks about the lives of pro snowboarders and the struggles they have has as christians and how they became christians. It is set up so that Joel, the director of the film/our speaker last week, can give the gospel after the movie.

He went through the gospel and joe dirt heard it. He said afterward that he really liked the movie and what was said, he really "felt" the movie. And maybe one day he would believe. he liked that we didnt push our beliefs on him.

Pray for joe dirt. he is a really good guy that works alot. he doesnt have much hope in life, but we hopfully can show him Jesus by loving him. I think we made a huge impact on his life last night, so lets pray that it continues to grow in him.

thanks for reading!... MORDOR!

I added more pics. Scroll down and check them out. We are going to Queenstown next week!

Our amazing chef Ali told me yesterday that while she was praying she thought of me and prayed for me. God said something like “I am glad you notice me when you see me!” That God is glad she notices Jesus when she sees Him… in me! Wow! How awesome. She said referring to my character that I am like Jesus.

Another girl later that night said almost the same thing. She told me how the other night in worship, she asked God what attracted her to me as a person. God told her that she sees Him in me. She sees God in me. That is cool!

The pastor told me the other day, after I gave the message at his church, Jordan- the river that brings life, and he sure did that today. This was also such a huge blessing.

I’ve already asked you all for money, but we need $65,000 New Zealand Dollars to have everyone go on outreach. That works out to about $43,000 US. I wanted to offer everyone a chance to give to this. If not, I fully understand. I would just like you to pray about it, if God puts it on your heart, ask for a name, and an amount. If you feel God is impressing this on you please respond to this blog and I can tell you how to get the money here.

Taste and see that the Lord is good!

IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BLOG UNDER THIS. READ THAT ONE FIRST! THANKS

I’ve been getting the same revelation from God, almost 10 times now. People say “I listen when you talk.” People listen when you speak. Then they go into how powerful it was, or that I don’t speak a lot, but when I do it is meaningful. Another guy said I see you in a pastor role, speaking in front of people in conferences. Another said that that there was light all around me and the word was the light in front of me.
I’ve been being called Reverend Gibson, Pastor G, Preacherman.
Eph2:1-10
We have had such amazing worship over the last few days. I have been really enjoying God’s presence. Take some time today and enjoy Him. What is keeping you from God? Get rid of it! God has been speaking through me to our school. Our worship leader, has encouraged me to speak during our worship times. I did it last Friday and this Wednesday. I haven’t been this close to God ever in my life. The last couple weeks has brought me really close to God and I love it. I’ve been cutting off all sin and coming to God in worship. Focusing on Him more.
In Africa I will be a part of Plead The Cause Uganda. You can look it up on the internet if you want to know more about it. I will be doing some preaching in Africa. I am wondering if anyone has help in subjects for messages that I can prepare.
God has really been speaking to me lately. This morning He gave me words for our community, just because I asked.
DTS has been amazing. I recommend it to everyone that is reading this blog. It’s an amazing time to give to God to learn about Him, experience Him, and make amazing friends. There are several hundred DTS’s around the world that specify in different areas of interest. For example I am on the snowboarding DTS as most of you know. I encourage you to check out and search through the many different kinds of DTS’s that are available on the YWAM website. http://www.ywam.org/Searches/FindDTS.asp
Ive been learning about what the Kingdom of God is. I’m starting to understand it more. I “Get” the Kingdom. I understand it, and I can receive it.
Jesus is everything I need to become.

God Is GOOD!

We had a rail jam Friday night that was amazing! It was really cool. They had two ramps that you start at the top and ride down off a jump onto a railing or a box. Then fly across and do some sweet tricks. We had several people that showed up probably around 60-70. I had a good chance to talk to some random guy that we picked up in the city and brought there.
Saturday night we had the premier of “One Year” a snowboarding documentary of 4-5 Christian professional snowboarders. It was a very cool movie and showed a lot of cool snowboarding tricks. Then it was able to bring the gospel up and how each was able to find God. They each had a different angle on how God has helped them throughout the last year. We had about 170 people at this video premier. Which was full capacity! Then after, Joel, the film’s director/our speaker for next week, shared the gospel in an amazing way, it was clear and not forward in any way. There were several people from China and other parts of the country that were brought into the country just to see that video. God is AMAZING! He then led us all through a prayer of salvation and I believe that many followed through with it.
So the night went on and everybody left and I was on the team that stayed overnight at the same church and helped out with the church service. I was told beforehand that some of us may be asked to give testimonies so I asked if they wanted me to. I ended up talking with the pastor about and telling him a couple things I could possibly share. He said he wasn’t sure what sermon he was going to preach, but that we could meet and pray about it the next day. That night before I went to sleep, me and another friend worshiped God for about 3 hours. Over this time God downloaded a message for the congregation the next day. The pastor had said something about sacrifice and I ran with it. God gave me a whole message, about 30min and made it very clear and powerful.
The next day I met with the pastor 20 min before church started and shared how God spoke to me. He said that it fit great in with the series he had been sharing on the weeks before. He gave me permission to give the message God gave me the night before.
So there I was “guest speaker” at this little church in Methven. It was amazing. I had such a good time giving it. I was given amazing feedback by everyone I talked with. Maybe in the next blog I’ll write out the main parts of the sermon.
After the sermon, since I had called for freedom among the congregation, talked about the freedom from many addictions I had been given, a woman came and asked for prayer. Me, Ang, and the pastor’s wife surrounded her and put our hands on her. I said “God is Good” and she collapsed convulsing! It was very interesting. She was shaking a lot, coughing pretty crazily, and at one point yelled very loudly for about a minute straight. Pretty powerful. I believe God gave her freedom through this. God is SO GOOD! She eventually got up and was fine. It was a cool experience. I meant to write a lot about the last week, but this weekend made me forget about anything else. I am going to come back and write another blog about last week though. I love you guys! Keep prayin for me!

weekend trip

Some people and I went on a weekend trip to the northern part of the island to Abel Tasman National Park. We went to PuPu springs, the purest water in the world, went to Wharariki Beach, and to a sweet waterfall, forgot the name. The pictures are below. Most of them made it, but some failed to load.

We had a great time though experiencing God's beautiful creation!

AFRICA!

IM GOING TO AFRICA!

We just found out that 9 of us are going to Uganda and Kenya, Africa. Our team is amazing. I'm really excited to see what God does will do while we are there. I bought a camera that i will be documenting the rest of our time here in New Zealand and then the outreach in Africa. So I will try to upload pictures on here, but I am having trouble with videos. Please pray for our outreach, we want miracles to happen, people to be raised from the dead, healing, people being freed from demons, people coming to Christ, and many other things like this. We want the spirit to move in amazing ways and we are expecting many miracles.

Our leaders were praying for pastors... and i God brought me...hmmm. They thought there will be alot of preaching... spontaneous preaching... hmmm.. and I think im the one for that..interesting. I've already thought about subjects that I will teach on.. and be prepared on these subjects for these random events. Please pray for this.

If you have any ideas of what we should video tape please tell me. for example I will be doing before and after interviews with everyone. I would love more ideas to make an excellent documentary.

About 7 of us are going to a national park a couple hours away this weekend. So there will be pictures of that up soon.
God bless

SOME MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES!

We have been going snowboarding on Wednesdays and Saturdays. On Saturdays we invite the local snowboarding community to a free dinner at the town at the base of the mountain. The last couple weeks we have had about 15 people or so. This opens up the ability to communicate, plant seeds, talk about Christ, or just simply love people. Please pray that we would be effective in inviting people, in our conversations at the mountain and also at the dinner.

In a couple weeks we are having a premier of a snowboarding video called “One Year.” We are advertising this all around and expecting 200-300 people. It is a video talking about how some amazing snowboarders who weren’t Christians, became Christians and how they love snowboarding. We believe it will be a great way to reach snowboarders. Pray for this day which is a week from this coming Saturday.

We are hosting a “rail jam” the day before. A week from this coming Friday. This is where snowboarders do tricks on railings, different shaped boxes, and off jumps. This will also be a great opportunity to talk to the snowboarding community. Please pray for us as we host this and make friendships with the people that come.

Tomorrow I will be going with a group to the local city, Christchurch. We are doing outreach called “hizzy spizzy” which is slang for Holy Spirit. We will go into the city and pray for what God wants us to do, who He wants us to talk to, and pray for. Pray that God will lead us through this time. That people will be open to what He wants us to do. That we will obey God and how He leads us.

I forgot to tell everyone! 5 people got healed the other night! The first guy was sick in his bed all day. Some guys prayed for him and he was healed. He was really sick and then felt fine. Another’s almost broken elbow was healed. Another with a really bad knee was healed. Another with a bad back was healed. And another sick guy was healed. It was amazing! We are expecting that God will continue to work in our group and through us!

Please pray for miracles! For people to come to Christ! For healing, both physically and spiritually.

p.s. The base leader here has been talking to us about how they are going to Turkey to start another Snowboarding DTS (that is what I am on!). They will be scouting out the locations, setting stuff up, etc. They will have a group go in January that I am considering joining. Also they will be sending people with a 2 yr. commitment to the same place to start the base. I am also praying about this!

ministry day!

So we had worship day yesterday. We had a journey through the new tabernacle Mark Parker was our leader through this all. We sang some songs, gave thanksgiving, offered praise, gave offerings, I gave my new ipod away because I felt God was leading me to a few days before.
I also offered my whole life to the Lord. We then had lunch and continued to give offerings. Many gave up money and their wallets, some their identity, some their lives. I felt that I should offer one of the staff, who doesn’t have any of the money for the outreach, to pay for whatever difference he comes up with on the last day he needs to pay.
I was immediately given an ipod by another student. :) we then went into sin offerings. We talked about sins we deal with, struggles we have with different things, there was so much healing done. Many people brought deep things that they hadn’t dealt with. Some needed to forgive, others to be forgiven. We then were baptized in the Holy Spirit.
Mark asked us if we wanted to speak in tongues. I said sure. As I was baptized in the Spirit, I began to speak in tongues. First it was just me, but 5 seconds into it the Spirit took over and made my mouth go crazy. I couldn’t really control my body. I was on my face in worship continuing to speak in tongues. I was overcome by the Spirit and was barely in control of what was going on. This continued for about 20 minutes I believe. It was the most full of the Holy Spirit I have ever been. We then prayed for each other for each of our sins and things we dealt with. We had communion.
Gave each other prophecies. We lined up in two lines and asked for God to speak. He spoke for the person behind us. Then we opened up the Holy of Holies and worshipped for a long time. This went on from 9am until 12 midnight. Very exciting. Very much healing. Clarity. People’s chains were broken. It was very good all together.

for its only in your will that i am FREE!

i was given a word from God. from the lady that was teaching us about prophecy and hearing from God. It said Evangelist God+Science=miracles i am not sure what this means. I have been thinking about trying to set up some kind of conference when I get back. maybe this is the topic? let me know what everyone thinks.

Everyone Hears God! this is what we learned this week. Those voices that we continue to hush. may be God speaking into our lives and into others' lives. I'd like to encourage everyone to ask God to speak.... but then KILL THE VOICE THAT SAYS WHAT YOU HEAR IS NOT GOD!

I will be asking God for answers about the next step. One option that has come to my mind is to go with YWAM to Turkey to scout out what a Snowboarding DTS would look like there. This would be in january or february. SORRY MOM! lol This really excites me! I really have enjoyed hearing about what YWAM is about and what they want to do. But this is just one of many options.

We went snowboarding again yesterday at MT. Hutt. It was cloudy so I didnt get any good pictures. But hopefully you enjoyed the previous pictures.

I've received more clarity on the Kingdom of Heaven. I understand now that when God brings the Kingdom, it means that He is bringing a future reality into the present. That a life that will eventually come is brought into this life now. The "shalom" of the future to come today.

I am genuinly happy throughout all of the day. I'm hear with great people, learning alot, i dont even care that i sleep on bunkbeds lol. Happy to be where God wants me to be!

hi

All 40 of us gave our 5 min testimonies over the last day which was amazing! Everyone came because of different reasons, got there through different circumstances, but everyone was brought by God.
I have been learning a lot about the different YWAM bases, what they are all about. There are several hundred other bases around the world. We have 3 book reports to do over the next couple months and also journals on what we are learning throughout the lectures. If you have any suggestions on books to read, please tell me. We have a small library with several books. I am thinking about Velvet Elvis, I saw it yesterday. But any suggestions would be great.
We are doing outreach on Friday nights. There are a few options. Going into town and listening to the Holy Spirit tell us what we should do. Talking to people, praying, playing sports with people. There is an asian small group that we can attend also. There are a couple skate parks that we will be doing ministry at as well. Around Oxford we will be doing ministry. Finally on the mountains we will invite people to have dinner with us and come back and hang out.
I am starting to see several opportunities that God has before me. I am praying for help to figure out which He wants me to do.

first couple days

I finally made it! A 12 hr flight was no fun but I slept about 16hrs when I got here. Church was amazing this morning. Really started off the mood for this group. The pastor of this little Baptist 5 row church really brought me and many others to a new level. He talked about be open and responding to God’s word with REAL worship. We worshipped at the end of the service for a really long time. At one point there wasn’t even a song being sung. We just enjoyed the presence of God. Flags waving, crazy dancers, people shaking, one lady shaked a lot. The pastor blew at one lady and she went flying into her chair. And the people around her “bounced” away. Almost like a wave of Holyness hit the first lady and spread out from her. It was cool to see. One lady gave a word and began shaking pretty weirdly and another started histerically laughing right after this. Very interesting morning. But God was there and I really enjoyed it. The sermon was on being open to what God wants to do and not putting restrictions on Him. And we didn’t . I think it gave us all a great picture of what worship can be if led by the spirit.
More people showed up today and everyone is really cool. Everything is really laid back just my style. We learned a lot about what is going down throughout this school. It all seems really good. We will be really busy. But also snowboarding twice a week! Word. If you want to know more about why I am here, or am wondering what is the point. Or if u just want to watch an amazing video. Go here http://www.ywamoxford.org/ The video is on this page. this is what they played the first night when we got in. my skype is Jordan.gibson3 or email me at jlgibson@purdue.edu

I figured I should put up a copy of my letter

Dear friends and family,

I want to start by thanking you for your prayers and support throughout my life thus far. I am so grateful to have such great people surrounding me. In these last few years God has done an amazing work in me and He has done much of it through you. I am thankful. It is my hope to share in this letter an exciting opportunity that has opened up for me. In June, I will begin a two-phase mission trip. The first phase takes place in New Zealand and is called Discipleship Training School (DTS). This involves three months of curriculum that includes a variety of topics: The character and nature of God, prayer and intercession, personal devotions, hearing the voice of God, spiritual warfare, worship, true repentance, holiness and the fear of the Lord, the Father heart of God, relationships, biblical Christian world-view, and world missions. The second phase will involve mission work in one of the following countries: China, India, Jordan, Israel, Chile, or Argentina.

I feel that God has specific plans for my life and I believe this mission training will be essential preparation for the future ministry and leadership God has for me. I am taking this six-month period of time and giving it to God for whatever He wants to do in me. I feel that the fruit of this experience will be a great influence in my life and in turn, in the lives of others. The DTS will provide a structure for me to learn more about God, grow in my relationship with Him, learn to be more like Christ, and get a significantly new perspective on life. I feel the second phase of the mission trip will be beneficial in understanding other cultures, the problems that they have, the help they need, and the urgency of it. I want to grow in my willingness and ability to serve others both here and around the world.

The cost of this mission training is $6,500 and I need your support. I am requesting a pledge of money and/or prayer for this mission trip. I would also like to offer my help to you over these next three months or so until I leave. I am currently unemployed and would love to serve you in any area of work or help you may need. For more information about the mission trip you may visit www.ywam.org or call me at 708-710-0700. I have set up a blog at http://jordangibsonsblog.blogspot.com/ that I will allow me to keep you updated throughout this mission training to let you know how God is changing and growing me because of your help.

Please consider giving financially. I promise that it is going to a worthy cause.

Also, please send me your email address so I can add you to my list.

Finally, please pray. Your prayer support will be needed throughout the entire process.
God Bless,

Jordan Gibson jlgibson@purdue.edu 15507 Colfax St. Lowell, IN 46356

today

Where I'm at today: I want purity, character, more Joy, love. I want more God. I want His presence. I need more grace. Help to overcome sin and shame and addiction. I want to learn how to be an amazing man of God. A leader in the church. I want to live only for God. I want to give everything to God. Whether work, money, time, relationships, etc.

I guess you are able to comment on what I post below the blogs. Feel free to say whatever you want. Also if you have skype you can reach me at jordan.gibson3

I hope that this mission trip will help me grow closer to God. I hope it will prepare me for the work that He has for me. Please pray that this will happen.
